POSITION SUMMARY:
The Admissions Investigative Specialist is responsible for managing and conducting comprehensive investigations into applications for admission to the practice of law in Arizona. This role requires the application of strong case management skills to ensure the timely processing of applications, from initial receipt to the final recommendation to the Supreme Court in accordance with established rules and guidelines. Key responsibilities include gathering, monitoring, and analyzing background information on applicants using critical analytical skills and independent research. The Admissions Investigative Specialist is also expected to make informed recommendations regarding admissions and may provide testimony at hearings.

Other responsibilities include serving as staff and policy advisor to the Committee on Character and Fitness, providing leadership and expertise to the Committee on critical issues. Prepare and present written and oral reports, as well as develop and deliver training for stakeholders. This position will also manage special projects and studies, conducting data collection and analysis, writes reports and develops recommendations.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program qualified employer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s public administration, justice studies, or a related field and five years related experience. Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirements.

In addition, this position requires demonstrated ability to consistently exercise independent initiative and judgment on complex issues, expertise in analyzing and researching subject matter of significant difficulty, preparation and maintenance of complex reports and records, expertise in case management, organization and maintenance of complex paper and electronic files and records, and excellent oral and written communication skills, including investigatory interviewing, testifying and public presentations.

This position also requires the ability to to work with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with Committee members, colleagues, professionals, public officials, applicants and other stakeholders.

The preferred candidate will have accreditation as a certified investigator with the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation or similar organization, as well as experience and knowledge of professional licensing and certification issues and standards.

Travel level: up to 5%. In-state travel.

SELECTION PROCESS:
