POSITION SUMMARY:
If you are a hands-on leader with a passion for information technology who is ready to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic organization, the Deputy Infrastructure Operations Manager II position could be the ideal next step in your career. This role offers the opportunity to assist the Infrastructure Operations Manager in overseeing daily activities across multiple IT disciplines, including security, network, and server infrastructure to ensure all systems are operating efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the Arizona Judiciary. With a strong background in IT operations, you will play a key role in assessing technology needs, recommending upgrades, and ensuring the seamless execution of internal projects. Lead by example and mentor the team in adapting to new challenges and opportunities.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Task-level management oversight and leadership for the Infrastructure Operations group daily.
  • Maintaining standards, policies, and operational documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a partnership with the ITD’s Support and Development units.
  • Maintain computer and network systems to ensure maximum availability of all systems supporting the courts.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Operations staff to assist with technology transfers and generate operational best practices for technologies that are deployed.
  • Coordinate with the Support Center on problem and incident resolution and system change processes.
  • Address performance gaps or behavior concerns constructively, working with the individual to outline corrective actions and set clear expectations for improvement.
  • Promote a collaborative atmosphere where differing opinions are respected, and constructive dialogue is encouraged. Your role as a mediator will be crucial in maintaining a harmonious team dynamic, ensuring that all team members feel heard and valued.

The Deputy Infrastructure Operations Manager II is a leadership role that requires both technical expertise and strong team management skills. This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing computer and network systems technologies.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing technical staff.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.

Preferred skills include:

  • Governmental experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows servers, desktops, enterprise database technology, cloud computing and storage infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop staff to take on greater responsibilities.

Travel level: Negligible
